Doubletree by Hilton Resort Zanzibar

Came to Doubletree by Hilton Resort Zanzibar and loved the island! I booked the hotel online and didn't really know much about Nungwi Village except that it had beautiful beaches. When I arrived, the taxi driver said it was an hour away (from Stonetown) so I was a bit worried it was so far from the "city center". Once I arrived at the resort, my worries were washed away as the staff were so friendly at check in with a cold beverage and snack ready.

The resort is right on the beach and it is very relaxing and serene and a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The soft white sand and warm turquoise ocean made it one of the most beautiful beach I've been to. The hotel room was clean and nicely decorated.

However, there was no hot water for the shower, which was okay during the day since it was so hot but it would have been nice to have a hot (or even warm) shower at night.

The pool was wonderful and defintely enjoyed the pool bar and bartender and his daily drink specials!

I really enjoyed the food there but you can definitely experience more local food if you walk down the beach so I would recommend walking along the beach and exploring and talking to the locals.

I would also recommend snorkelling at Mnemba Island.

I went through Zanzibar Watersports which had great prices and staff.

If you get seasick easily, make sure you take some anti-nausea medication as the 1hr boat ride on the dhow can get pretty choppy.

Overall it was fantastic resort and I would definitely go back there in a heartbeat.
